Trauma Sensitive Yoga Workshop (by request)
Trauma is a condition of being unable to live in the present. The objective of this workshop is to learn the theoretical underpinnings of TCTSY: attachment theory, trauma theory, and neuroscience. We will explore how this approach can allow someone to have a present moment experience.
The workshop will be delivered in a lecture format with an optional chair based or mat based yoga and time for questions & discussion.
This is a half-day workshop suited for clinicians, trauma therapist, yoga schools, and yoga instructors. It can also be of service to anyone wanting to learn more about how TCTSY can be used as an adjunctive treatment for complex trauma, or chronic, treatment-resistant PTSD. This framework can be applied to a diverse range of professions and contexts, including but not limited to, teachers, mental health professionals, medical practitioners, bodyworkers, behavioral healthcare providers, and everyday living.
Om Restorative Yoga (by request)
Restorative Yoga is a highly effective form of “active relaxation” that can be done by anyone. By fully supporting the body with blankets, bolsters, blocks and eye pillows, we give our mind and body ample time to relax and connect to the parasympathetic nervous system, leading to an experience of healing rest. This class is rooted in the teachings of Cyndi Lee, founder of Om Yoga and author of Yoga Body Buddha Mind. Please contact me to discuss what’s possible.
Private and Semi-Private Sessions
Private Sessions are specially planned to meet your unique needs. Whether new to yoga or a seasoned practitioner, there is great comfort in receiving individualized and focused attention on your mat. Do you have specific needs or goals, limited time or prefer 1:1 instruction? Are you interested in learning the basics of yoga, exploring the deeper purpose of the practice or receiving trauma sensitive practices? In these private yoga lessons, I will offer you specific support and instruction. Please contact me to discuss your needs.
Semi-Private Sessions are perfect for practicing with friends, gathering co-workers, celebrating a special event, or simply sharing the cost of private yoga lessons. Please contact me to discuss what’s possible.
